worst day ever.

well most stressful moment of my life
so far.

On Fridays, I teach dance.
I teach from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. -
then I go back for one more class at 3:00 p.m.
.
On this last Friday, I was driving to my 3:00 class,
and was stopped at the red light of 5400 South and 3200 West.
The light turned green,
I press on the gas,
then...
STOP!
Mid-intersection.
My car just stops working.
There is a car full of girls behind me, and the driver starts laying on her horn,
and yelling at me to go.
This stressed me out even more, because I didn't know what was going on with my car, and she kept honking even though I had my hazard lights on.
I finally get out of my car, and yell at her,
"I CAN'T FREAKING MOVE!"
She gets the cars behind her to back-up, and they all pass me.
.
My gas gage is broken, and I knew I was close to running out of gas.
So I thought I was out of gas.
And of course! My cell phone was dead.
Luckily there is a 7Eleven and a Chevron at that intersection,
but how am I going to get there?
.
I sit at the light - in the middle of the intersection - for 3 lights!
No one helped me.
I was traveling West, and the cars going North and South couldn't go,
but yet, no one helped me.
I finally say to myself,
"Well you're going to have to get out and ask someone."
So I get out and ask the guy in the left turn lane,
he rolls his window down an inch,
and I ask him
he speeds off like I just asked for his kidney.
I thought,
"You're kidding right?"
.
Finally, a very nice gentleman pulls up behind me and says,
"Do you need help?"
I'm crying my eyes out and say, "Yes"
He kindly pushes my car backward, out of the intersection.
Then a man and woman come up behind him,
they are driving a tow-truck.
They offer to help, too.
We decide to push it to the Chevron,
the woman driving the tow-truck gets her stop signs out to stop traffic while they push my car, and I steer.
Some man walking across the street also joins in to help.
I am pushed into the pumping stall,
and am relieved that I can go about my life.
.
I fill it up,
my car takes 13 gallons,
and it filled it up to 11.8 or so,
so I thought, "Was I really out of gas?"
I get in to start it, and
nothing.
I'm freakin'.
I sit there for a minute thinking the gas just needs time to get to the places it needs to go.
I try again.
nothing.
This time I notice a light is on in the dash.
But then it goes off, then on, then off again.
I know it's not my battery because all the lights and radio are still working.
.
I run into the station and ask for their phone and phone book.
The attendant stares at me like I asked for a machete.
He gives me the phone and I try calling the studio first -
no answer.
I then call my dad, he doesn't answer.
I needed someone to take me to dance - NOW.
I called Perry, and he left work to come pick me up.
I call my mom, and she doesn't know what to do because she can't see the light in my car.
.
I finally get a hold of someone at the studio and explain them the story,
my class goes into Chenelle's class until I can get there.
.
Perry comes to the rescue,
and tells me to start my car,
still nothing.
He lifts my hood, and can't see whats wrong.
We push it to a parking stall until we can figure out what to do,
and he takes me to dance.
.
I get to dance fifteen minutes before it gets out.
Pretty pointless, but I made the most of it.
.
Now, for about a year, my family has been in a battle with AAA,
they got mine and my sisters birthdays mixed up,
and thought I was over 21, so I could no longer be under my parents insurance.
So then we called and cleared it up but they never sent my an un-expired card.
So I couldn't call them because I didn't know if I was a member or not.
Nor did I have their number.
.
So we go back to the station, and called using my mom's card.
They said a tow truck is on it's way.
My dad finally comes, and can't figure it out either.
.
I call using Perry's cell phone,
so when the tow-truck guy calls to say he is less than five minutes away,
Perry answers.
He's Samoan.
Perry and him get along immediately.
.
He comes, asks me to start it.
And says, "It's your fuel pump."
Then decides to tow it to our great auto shop - Rowely's.
.
My car is now in the shop,
and I won't get it back until Monday night or Tuesday.
.
It was so scary being in the middle of the intersection,
and having no control of my car.
I was also so disappointed that no one helped me,
when they could see I was crying, saying profanities, and am a girl.
Then when the guy drove off, I almost started walking home then.
.
I am so thankful for;
the people who pushed my car,
the gas station attendants for letting me use their phone,
Perry, for leaving work early and picking me up, taking me to dance, and taking me back to my car, and for comforting me - even thought I might have gotten him in trouble,
my dad for calling Rowely's,
my mom for bitchin' out AAA, and letting me use her card,
AAA for towing my car, and
Chenelle for taking my class.

test taking.

Congratulations!
You are reading the blog of thee worst test taker,
EVER!
.
I do not know what it is,
but I am horrible at taking tests.
I know all the information on the test but as soon as the test is handed out,
it flies out of my brain.
.
I study for hours and hours,
walk into class and feel confident.
I sit down, memorizing some last items,
then the test begins to be passed out,
and
BOOM!
.
my heart - racing,
my palms - sweaty,
I'm breathing heavy,
I can't relax,
and I cannot remember anything that I just studied.
.
It's like I am searching through the files of my brain and someone has pressed delete.
And worst of all -
I have the cold sweats.
.
I look around frantically trying to remember even the last word I just read in my notes -
nothing.
.
Then I begin to write my name -
BOOM!
even worse...
"what's my name?"
I feel like I'm going to cry.
and throw up.
.
I read question number four,
is the answer (a) or (d),
I can't remember - I'm second guessing myself.
Aaaah. Think. I'll guess (a).
.
I get through the test, and hand it in.
.
The minute I step out of the classroom,
my notes come flooding back to my memory.
It's like someone opened the gate,
and here come the cows.
[cows being the material I studied].
.
I suddenly can remember number 4 on the test,
and know what the answer is.
It's (d) - "Did I put (d)?"
I sure hope I did.
.
.
It gives me extreme anxiety for the next week.
I can't even sleep.
.
.
I get my test back - horrible.
I look at number four - I put (a)
Damn! What was I thinking?
I read all the questions I got wrong,
and of course,
I know the real answers.
.
You are terrible, Kylie.
.
I do better on essay questions,
because overall I am a better writer than thinker.
[I know that doesn't really sense but if I had to hand in a paper instead of a test, I do a lot better.]
.
I always second guess myself on multiple choice.
So on the first day of class when the teacher is going over how the tests are going to be,
when they say "Multiple choice"
I tell myself, "just drop out now."
.
However, when there are essay questions on the test,
I can never remember the support to make the short answer the best,
I usually end up dragging it on,
and still not getting the highest score possible.
.
.
I hate it.
.
.
If anyone, out there reading this, has some hints, or tricks, or any suggestions,
I would be glad to hear them!
.
I found out last semester that the faster I took a test,
the better off I was because I wouldn't second guess,
I just circled the right answer and went on.
But, this semester I have a stupid teacher that times us,
not only do you have to be done by a certain time,
if you are done early than a different certain time,
you are docked points because she thinks you are cheating.
Horrible, so I have to sit there for a half hour, staring at my paper, which then makes me second guess.
.
I can't stand it,
and unfortunately I have a lot more tests to take.
So, help. Please.
.
Thanks!

Valentine's day...

I'm not a huge fan of St. Valentine's Day.
I personally think it is a pretty dumb holiday.
Don't get me wrong, I love to celebrate a day of love,
but why, why do we have to have one day a year to celebrate love?
Why can't it be anyday we feel the love?

I also think certain 'typical' Valentine's day gifts are a joke.
Balloons - a waste, they last about 2 days
Flowers - a waste, pretty for the first day then gone in six
Chocolates - [oh so delicious] but a waste, your valentine will just get mad because they will gain weight if they eat them all

With that said, For Perry and my first Valentine's Day together, these gifts were exchanged,
and were very nice,
and I did enjoy them
but since then,
I have come to realize that it is a waste.

I know I probably sound like a negative Nancy right now,
but seriously, think about it?
Why can't the men in the relationship pick one day out of the year besides Valentine's and anniversaries and show some love?
Or even the women?

All in all, I feel this way about Valentine's Day but still celebrate the day filled with love,
and this year had a great one.
Perry and I decided last year we weren't going to get each other gifts,
and decided that again this year.
YET, I get to his house on Saturday night and there is a card sitting on his counter that say, "Kylie"
I looked at him with mean eyes,
I said, "it better only be a card,"
I opened it,
he said, "Yeah, only a GIFT card"
That little turd.
I was at the mall earlier with my mom,
and told him I was at a store that I really liked a lot of things in there,
he went right after and bought a gift card there.

Little shhhh.....

My parents gave me a new purse, some chocolates, and some pajamas.
It was a great day!

We celebrated my Dad's 87th birthday
[it was on the 11th]
so my whole family came over, and we had my fave - Chicken Parmesan!
yum..
It was a great day filled with love, and I got to see my family that I haven't seen since Christmas,
along with sharing the day with my one true love, Perry!

Hope you had a great day, too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope your day is filled with love, even if you don't have a Valentine!

Love,
Kylie

birthday fun.

Perry turned 22 on friday.
It was exciting!
On friday night we went to Tepenyaki with his family,
[Perry loves this place]
then we went back to his house for cake.
He had a total of 4 cakes made for him!
[They were all delicious.]

Perry got;
new shoes
an iTrip
headphones
Basketball shorts
a gift card to Best Buy
and a board game.
Not to mention many of cards.

I don't know if you have ever been to Tepenyaki,
but it is delish.
And the atmosphere is great!
However, the chef, threw the shrimp at the end very poorly.
Out of the family, Perry's sister Ashley was the only one who caught it.
I was a little sad.

At dinner Perry had some news.
The news was,
"I'm joining the Air Force."

harsh, I know.
[more about this later]

On Saturday night, I took just me and him out.
It was again, another fun night!

I would say it was a well deserved weekend.
Even better, next weekend is Valetines
so two WHOLE weekends together with my booooo.
love it.

here are the pics...

getting ready to go.

.
80th picture, because Perry never smiles.

Perry has been thinking about joining the Air Force for a while,
he says,
"to better the future, and have a career."
Can't blame him.
.
I felt a little bitter about it at first,
but the more I think about it the more excited I get for him.
It will be a great opportunity, and I think he will get a lot out of it.
.
My two only fears,
1. Him going active duty
and...
2. Marrying him, and having to live in Ogden for the Hill Air Force Base
[yuck.]
.
He has yet to meet with the recruiter,
but is planning to do it this week.
.
I'll let you know how it goes.
.
peace.
