Next week, is my last week
as an intern at the cjc [Children's Justice Center].
I am terribly sad about this.
I have enjoyed my time here so much.
It is a place so comforting to children,
and yet so fearful for children.
If you are a new reader,
the Children's Justice Center is a Salt Lake County Facility,
used to interview children about suspected abuse.
May it be physical, sexual, neglect, or witnessing abuse.
.
As an intern, I monitored the interviews between the child and the detective,
made follow-up calls,
and sat in on team staffings where they would decide what counts,
and how many counts to charge the suspect.
.
I know, many people are thinking,
"I could never do this."
or,
"How horrible - why would you want to do that?"
.
If you don't know me,
I live for this.
I would love to do this for a living-
giving children a second chance to have a normal life,
a chance to not suffer through these horrible things all their life.
.
I have never dreaded a day going into the cjc.
I love it there.
I actually look forward to going there.
I don't want it to end.
.
Thank you to;
